8 foot will work but it will be fast, 10 is a little more comfortable, more than 12 and it will be too slow. what size tranny?

For a good BMX ramp you can't go wrong with 6 feet tall, 8 feet radius. An 8 foot radius is just about right.

Im building a 4 foot quarterpipe with a detatchable platform. what do i do to secure the platform without screws? (it has to be portable)

dude i had the same problm if you get wood cocking try puting the over the cracks let it dry then get a sander and a razor and go overy the cocking i try that and it worked prety well and for the steepness just cut of about a foot
