Re: frame of mini-halfpipe,need help

ok, so home depot cuts weren't perfect. Will need to recut wood... unless, would shims work? There is up to a 1/2 inch gap on some boards.

frame of mini-halfpipe,need help

Help!
i'm helping my son(10) build minihalfpipe with your plans,(the video is awesome). We adjusted the frame to a rectangle of 4x8 instead of square 8x8, and we are using 2x4's instead of 2x6's. We cut the inner skeleton to 3' x 9" on all 13 pieces and left the outer frame pieces at 8'. We scr...

Re: mini ramp vs. mini halfpipe

the hangers aren't really necessary, but 2x6s are a good idea for an outdoor halfpipe.

My plans are lacking in that they don't mention paint/seal options. From my research spar urethane on Masonite seems to be a very popular solution. http://rampplans.org/forums/?board=tips;action=display;num=10925...

Re: how long did it take to biuld your mini pipe

the indoor mini ramp I did mostly by myself, it took about 7-10 hours over two days.

the outdoor mini halfpipe I built with chad from resiramps, it took the two of us five days, about 40 hours total (maybe 60 man hours).

Re: roll in

... line. i experimented with radii untill i found a nice transition (about 4'6"). then cut it out just like a quarter pipe, and save what would ... and build it just like a quarter pipe. check out my project page (bens Mini ramp) for an example.

Well, Im at it again

I have decided that i have become bored of my Mini ramp so now I am expanding it. I am adding on 8 more feet, making the total width 20 feet(wow!), raising the extensions up to 6 feet, and also adding a roll-in(OMG!). I will be posting progress ...

mini ramp vs. mini halfpipe

is the mini ramp okay to build outside or if it is outside should i stick with the mini halfpipe that calls for 2x6 with hanger? Trying to save money.

Also in the descriptions it doesnt discuss sealing. What is the best to use urethane, paint, combination?

Thanks

Re: mini ramp space problems

go here, http://www.xtremeskater.com/ramptool.php, click on 'mini halfpipe template', to make the length smaller you can decrease the platform length, flat bottom length, ramp height, or decrease the transition radius
