on this page it shows him drilling the holes in the coping but what board is he drilling the screw into it almost looks like hes drilling on an angle into nothing pleas help. ITs not the deck i dont think nor the 2x4 under ...

its 1.5" diameter coping that sounds like a good idea tho i never thought of that

its just personal preference. it also depends on what size your coping is, how thick your surface is, and how thick your platform is.

heres a good trick. cut out a small piece of coping you will use. stick it on the side of the halfpipe with your hand to ...

NEED HELP PLEASE!!

... were provided on the site but they left out one major thing that i need to know.How big of a notch am i supposed to cut out of the top to fit the coping in. The plans dont give you information on this and it just appears in the next step. If anyone has suggestions i'd appreciate it alot.

you can use spray paint on the wood, as for the coping, you could use spray paint for metal products but it probably wont stay on to long if your grinding, but you could spay it and then wax it, that may help the paint stay on longer

Transitions

I am in the process of building 3' high by 8' wide with 8' of flat half pipe. I am going to put pool coping on one side and a steel coping on the other.

My question is... Can I use an 8' transition on such a small ramp. Will that give me the speed I need. Or should I use ...

I made coping from 1-1/2 inch EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing). It's used as conduit for running electrical wiring (thus being found in the electrical section of Home Depot). I paid US$13.90 for 10 ft.
