I made coping from 1-1/2 inch EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing). It's used as conduit for running electrical wiring (thus being found in the electrical section of Home Depot). I paid US$13.90 for 10 ft.

Micah - welcome to the forums, you bring up some good points

About the coping, have you ever skated a ramp that uses the method I use for drilling the coping in (leaving holes in top of coping)? I was hesitant at first but you really do not notice the holes ...

i noticed on the mini ramp plans you didn't say how you put the coping on

... me, my brother and brother in law five hours to build. but following your instructions this is what came out.

I didn't have a pipe to make the coping at time but hoping to add it later.

How far the coping sticks out is a matter of preference.

For my quarterpipe I have the coping flush with the transition, then sticking out the top about and inch, there is a good side shot of coping here: http://www.xtremeskater.com/minirampplans/step2.php. ...
