Re: 2ft. high 4ft. wide half pipe

... realize how fast this ramp will be.

Re: 12ft wide support

... example say your building an 8ft section and your templates are and should be 3/4 inches thick each, that would take 1-1/2 inches off your 8ft length, so you would need to cut your 2x4's to a length of 94-1/2 inches to make an over all length of 8ft when you screw add the 2 templates to each ...

Re: Quarter pipe help

... Usually it is cheaper and less waistfull to go 8ft or even 12ft wide with any ramp. This is because the cheapest 2x4's and plywood all come in 8ft lengths. So if you built a quarter pipe at 8ft wide you would save some money and if you want to go wider than 8ft it just makes sense to go another ...

...

So I set out to build a half pipe for my son. I got the materials list. I went to construction demo sites and asked if I could recycle used full length pieces of 2x4's, 2x6's and 4x4's, I even came across a few sheets of plywood and two old sturdy home made bookshelfs that were made out of 3/4 ...

Re: flat bottom length-vs-transition radius and height

a good rule of thumb for mini ramps is twice as much flat as height. the ramps on this site are close enough to four feet high and have 8 ft of flat bottom, and they work pretty well. if you do a lot of lip tricks you want to give yourself enough time to set your feet up and also slow down enough to...

Re: flat bottom length-vs-transition radius and height

For a halfpipe I dont think most people would be happy with anything less than 8' wide. 4' is barely enough to do an axle stall on.

flat bottom length-vs-transition radius and height

oi, does anyone know a formula for this, or some good ballpark ranges. my family has a couple of beginners, an intermediate, and an old man who skated a long time ago (me).

i know the steeper or higher, the longer you want the flat bottom.

also, anyone built ramps in 4' widths? we have a great sp...

Re: mini ramp space problems

go here, http://www.xtremeskater.com/ramptool.php, click on 'mini halfpipe template', to make the length smaller you can decrease the platform length, flat bottom length, ramp height, or decrease the transition radius
