Re: Where can I get the materials for under $200 aud

I used Tar paper for on top of the plywood surface, then used masonite or something simmaler. Ten i used water sealer (that was made for a deck) on all the 2by4s, sides, and plat forms. i think the masonite should last about a year so just replace it when you need to.

Re: Plywood and Lumber Question? Ask an expert.

... for my mini 1/2 that I'm building. I've read online about HDO plywood. Would this be a good alternative to use as a riding surface instead of masonite for outdoor use? The only other thing I could think of if HDO is not good would be to use masonite and paint it with spar urethane or sealer. ...

Vinyl Tile for the surface

... easy to install (but installed at a 45 degree angle so you never hit the seams all at once).
As an alternative, has anyone used the white covered masonite from Lowes that is also water resistant? It comes in 4x8 sheets for about $14 a sheet.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Spar over Masonite in California

I'd just spar the plywood, I havent heard of masonite, even with spar, ever working out, example: http://rampplans.org/forums/?board=log; ... ;start=135

Or you could go sheet metal.

Spar over Masonite in California

Hey guys. I'm building a 3'6" mini with a 6'10" transition. I am surfacing with Masonite and plan to seal it with spar urethane. My question is, can I seal the Masonite prior to it being installed? Will it cause cracking when bending it to form? Should I just ...

Re: Adhesive for Masonite

Well, as it turns out this is not such a good idea. The adhesive tends to "wet" the absorbent back side of the masonite much as water does. This caused it to ripple and buckle after installation and the buckled areas don't adhere. The softened masonite is also much more prone ...

Adhesive for Masonite

Does anyone have experience using construction adhesive to hold down masonite on halfpipes? With urethane coating on both plywood and masonite layers, I am thinking this would reduce the number of screws needed and help prevent water trapping under the seams.

Re: HAVE A QUESTION

If you want Masonite go to a hardware store and ask for hardboard.

Re: were can u find massonite

I used tempered hardboard, got it at Lowes for $10 a sheet (4ftx8ft). It is really nice it is skatelite without waterproofing. If you keep it dry (tarp works best) it is awesome.

PS I think that hardboard is masonite.

Re: is there i can water proof my halfpipe without using skateli

easist and cheapist way would be to paint ply with regular house paint. makes it smooth as masonite but more water resistant.
