Re: skatepaint alternitive from skatelite

I found a couple posts on another site re: skate paint and spar urethane as coatings for ramp surfaces. Apparently, skate paint is not very highly regarded, but spar urethane has been used with good results. And it's relatively inexpensive...

Re: mini ramp vs. mini halfpipe

the hangers aren't really necessary, but 2x6s are a good idea for an outdoor halfpipe.

My plans are lacking in that they don't mention paint/seal options. From my research spar urethane on Masonite seems to be a very popular solution. http://rampplans.org/forums/?board=tips;action=display;num=1092503236, ...

mini ramp vs. mini halfpipe

is the mini ramp okay to build outside or if it is outside should i stick with the mini halfpipe that calls for 2x6 with hanger? Trying to save money.

Also in the descriptions it doesnt discuss sealing. What is the best to use urethane, paint, combination?

Thanks

Re: SKATE PAINT vs. SPAR URETHANE

Check out the post "SkatePaint alternative from Skatelite." There's a couple of links in that thread to posts discussing both skatepaint and spar urethane.

Re: 4 foot halfpipe

... mini ramp from the mini ramp plans. Its bigger, cheaper, and portable

However, you will have to make it waterproof it you want it outside...just paint it and/or buy a tarp

Also, the mini ramp plans tell you how to build a 3' 5" mini ramp. I messed mine up and accidently built a 4' mini ...
