Re: flat bottom length-vs-transition radius and height

I built a 4ft wide halfpipe 2ft tall and an 6ft flatbottom it works fine. the flatbttom is just perfect. Can't grind but is nice to learn tricks on, you can 50-50 it. Its so awseome!

It is better than nothing.

Re: 8ft halfpipe with 1 ft of vert

I have seen halfpipes 8ft tall with 2ft of vert so 1ft of vert is fine just make the radius 7ft you should be fine.

Re: Custom mini ramp dimentions help.

... make the mini a foot or so less tall and use the ramp calculator on this website to see how long each side will be ( make sure that the transition radius is at least 72 in.) add the total leanth of the sides ramps together and see how much room is left and that will be your flat bottom.(make sure ...

Re: Help with 3ft halfpipe

When you say how far up the 2 x 4 to put the pin. i am guessing you mean to draw your transition. if so you need to know what transition radius you want to answer that question. for the string and pencil way you would put the screw up at the height that you want you tranny to be . for example ...

Re: my ramp

... 2 feet of flat will help a little, 4 feet would help a little more. If you make another ramp you can make it slower by using a larger transition radius when cutting the sides... unfortunately not easily adjusted on a built ramp.

You could get abec-1 bearings for your board (will slow you down ...

Re: BMX

I'm not great but I've been riding for a little while and I've ridden a 5' quarter with a 5' radius out of concrete and it works but not great. Mini ramps aren't good because the radius is way to much for a bike and its hard to air out of and stall because of the radius.

Help with Narrow Mini

... to basic lip tricks/stalls for the time being.

Dimensions i am thinking of using are 3'x 5'x 21' with 6' of flatbottom and a transition radius of 7'.

if anyone could shed some advice on those 2 points above or better dimensions for my space it would be appreciated!
