NEED HELP PLEASE!!

Postby tman095 on Tue Apr 01, 2008 12:02 pm

hi right now i am in the process of building a 2.5' by 8' halfpipe. I have been using the ramp plans that were provided on the site but they left out one major thing that i need to know. How big of a notch am i supposed to cut out of the top to fit the coping in. The plans dont give you information on this and it just appears in the next step. If anyone has suggestions i'd appreciate it alot.

Thanks, TJ

its just personal preference. it also depends on what size your coping is, how thick your surface is, and how thick your platform is.

heres a good trick. cut out a small piece of coping you will use. stick it on the side of the halfpipe with your hand to the position you would like it if it were actually on the halfpipe. Then trace around the coping with a pencil. cut that pencil mark out

my suggestion is 1/2"-3/4" sticking out from the top (platform) and around 1/2" sticking out from the side (surface/massonite)

its 1.5" diameter coping that sounds like a good idea tho i never thought of that
just making sure i dont need to surface it 1st before i make the notches right??
