Lowes or home depot but they call it hardboard and it's in the trim section. It's like 11 $ for a 4 x 8 sheet.

yeah, if you go to home depot, and you call it Masonite, they wont know what you are talking about. I went there and ended up just buying some really smooth plywood

I have hardwood it is really smooth I would suggest it.

PS Is hardwood really Masonite? :?:
