MDF vs Masonite

Postby gsm4110 on Mon Mar 23, 2009 7:12 pm

Hi, I am planning on building a mini ramp custom but i am having trouble finding Masonite here in Costa Rica. The closest thing to Masonite that I could find is called MDF. Does anybody have any experience with this material? it looks very smooth but I don't want to take the risk yet.

Thanks,

Gabriel

I personally have never used it but from what people tell me it isnt bad, I would go to were they sell it ask them if it can be used for ramps. Other than that all the websites ive looked at say it bends and shapes well and is good for curved walls and things. What i would personally do is buy a small amount enough to cover a tech deck ramp and mount it on two blocks and press the middle if it dosent break you should be good.

Btw alot of websites say its weather resistant.
