6ft halfpipe flat?

Talk about ramp building, ask questions

6ft halfpipe flat?

Postby theally on Sun Nov 29, 2009 1:41 am

I'm in the process of building a 6ft high halfpipe and was giving it an 8ft flat but it looks a little short. Is 8ft flat enough for a 6ft ramp? Any opinions would be appreciated..

cheers

I would go at least 12, maybe 16.

8 foot will work but it will be fast, 10 is a little more comfortable, more than 12 and it will be too slow. what size tranny?

In the process of building a 6' halfpipe myself, and would love some comments on the plans.

Was going for 6' high, 16' wide, 12' flat and like a 7 1/2 - 8' tranny..

Sound ok to you guys?

And if so - anyone got some decent ramp plans for a ramp of approx this size? Atm I'm just going with a modified version of Rich Dalens' plans, and hoping they will work out ok..

Cheers

I'm also building a 6ft halfpipe with a 8ft tranny. I was also wondering how long the flat should be. I'm probably going to build it with either 10ft or 12ft flat.
