Step 4 - Platforms

Materials Required

This part of the plans is quite easy to customize (platform depth, benches, etc...). I decided that a 2' platform would be enough for me, and it works out well because you can cut a 4'x 8' sheet of plywood in half to surface it. I dont add any support to the back of the platforms in the video of pictures, but I would recommend using 2x4's or 4x4's for support.

Take the 3/4" plywood and cut it in half so that you have two pieces that are 2'x8'. Take one of the pieces and set it on top of the transition piece and use it to measure how long your platform side 2x4s need to be (it will be about 2', but slightly off depending how your coping is resting).

Once you have the two support pieces in, measure how long the inner 2x4s need to be and screw them in. If you are adding railings, extra support to the back, benches, do this now before adding the plywood.

Finally screw the 2' x 8' plywood onto the platform.
